LINCOLN, CA (MPG) – On Saturday, June 6, FieldHaven Feline Center will join shelters across California in celebrating California Adopt-a-Pet Day with a one-day adoption promotion designed to help loving cats find loving homes — with a fun and unforgettable twist: Introducing: Certified, Pre-Owned Cats.

Inspired by classic used car ads, the campaign showcases adoptable adult cats like premium pre-owned models — reliable, lovable and fully inspected before heading home with their new families.

As part of the event, adoption fees for all adult cats over one year of age will be waived. (Adoption fees for kittens are not waived.)

“When you adopt, you can choose a pre-owned pet that fits your lifestyle perfectly,” said Makenna Gwaltney, executive director for FieldHaven. “We’ve got new models and classic models, in every color and personality imaginable. Every single one comes with unconditional love included.”

The campaign leans into the idea that adopted cats are not only lovable, but valuable: all makes and models available; standard 4-paw drive; 100,000 purr/tail-wag warranty; spayed or neutered; vaccinated; microchipped; and California-made.

California Adopt-a-Pet Day is hosted by the California Animal Welfare Association (CalAnimals), the San Francisco SPCA, and the ASPCA with the goal of helping thousands of shelter pets find loving homes statewide.

The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 6 at three locations (“dealerships”) in Lincoln: 2754 Ironwood Lane, 454 F St. in downtown Lincoln, and 920 Groveland Lane.
