AUBURN, CA (MPG) - The Placer County Board of Supervisors approved May 19 contracts totaling up to $1.5 million for asphalt paving and patching services to support road, parking lot and facility maintenance projects across Placer County through June 2027, with two renewal options.

The contracts were awarded to Baldoni Construction Service Inc. and Always Paving Inc. doing business as General Construction following a competitive bidding process managed by the county’s Procurement Services Division.

The county requires an annual contract for as-needed asphalt, hot-mix asphalt and asphalt concrete services for asphalt paving and patching work.

The contracts support projects led by multiple county departments, including the Department of Public Works; the Department of Agriculture, Parks, and Natural Resources; and the Department of General Services.

Projects include paving and patching roadways, parking lots and other public areas, along with crack sealing and slurry sealing services throughout the county.

The $1.5 million contract represents a small portion of the county’s overall program for paving and improving county roads and infrastructure projects. However, the contracts will help address a backlog of maintenance and capital improvement projects while also supporting ongoing Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility upgrades at county facilities and public spaces.
