A Roseville oral surgery practice is helping make college more affordable for students
Families across the country are still getting back on their feet amid COVID-19 shutdowns, and as students begin to gear up for the fall semester, many are worried about how they will pay for additional college expenses that can cost upwards of $4,500 at a 4-year institution. A Roseville oral surgery practice is helping make college more affordable for students as they head into the upcoming fall semester by providing a deserving student with a financial break and an opportunity to get a necessary surgery, free wisdom teeth extractions, and a chance to put the money it would have cost towards their higher education.
Caleb Axtell, 18, of Carmichael is a recent graduate from high school who plans to attend Grand Canyon University. He was selected out of a group of applicants to receive the free surgery through Placer Oral & Dental Implant Surgery’s first-ever Wisdom For Wisdom program. Caleb wrote in his application about how meaningful it would be for him to help save his parent’s money, as they work very hard to help support him. He also wrote that he is working at Leatherby’s so that he can help pay for some of the costs of college as well, doing everything he can to ease the financial burden on his parents. For the procedure, Caleb will be treated using Exparel®, a non-opioid, long-lasting treatment that will ensure a healthy recovery after the procedure.
Placer Oral & Dental Implant Surgery’s Wisdom For Wisdom final recipient’s free wisdom teeth extraction surgery that was scheduled for (8/10) at 10:30 AM has been canceled due to unexpected circumstances.
Caleb Axtell’s surgery has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 21.
